The Archives of American Art Oral History Program was started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and others. Many of the thousands of interviews have been transcribed and are available online at: www.aaa.si.edu/collections. This e-book selection of one dozen of them features: Interviews from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s; nine artists, two collector/dealers, and one publisher; 8,000 to 100,000 thousands words each; and plus, audio excerpts from six of the original interviews.
